2016 Letter from the president

January 29, 2016

Dear Ladies of the Hilltop Guild,

I hope you are all having a good start to the New Year. We are just around the corner from our first Wednesday meeting on February 3rd. We will be having sack lunches throughout February. On March 2nd, we will have our first business meeting of the year and our usual potluck lunches commence.

I have enjoyed my time as president very much, so far. We are having a good time learning about each other as we do our “Spotlight Moments” at each meeting. We have, also, had our first Saturday evening “supper and game night”. We all enjoyed Cincinnati chili and games. Our next supper gathering will be on Saturday, March 5th at 5:00 pm. We will be having soup, salads and desserts and games, of course! Hope to see many of you there!

Some of our upcoming events are; the Spring Luncheon on Saturday, June 11th at noon, our Annual Bazaar on Saturday, August 6th from 9:00 am to 2:00 pm and our Annual Meeting and Installation of Officers on September 7th. We are also hoping to be chosen to participate, once again, in the Estes Park Duck Race this spring.

We are gearing up for this year’s Bazaar and hoping that many of you will be able to participate in our projects and classes. Some of our classes have been / are scarf making, candle making, rug hooking, quilting projects, garden art poles felted mandalas and making fruit butters. Something for everyone!

We currently have 75 members including 6 Honorary Members. This past year we accepted 5 new members; Sharon Clement, Barb Coles, Elisabeth Sherwin, Donna Squyres and Del Brown and reinstated Elizabeth Johnson (Morris). Three members moved away, Rosalie Bargmann, Lucille Erlewine and Lavinia Hopfe. Jean Mundinger is no longer a member due to health issues. Honorary Member, Alma Walker, passed away as did Susie Kester and Marjorie Simons. Claudia Osa’s husband, Tom, passed away in October.

Thank you to all of you who have made my time, so far, as president an enjoyable time.

Warmest Regards, Peg Daley
